Gripsholm  was delivered in August 1989, for use on a high speed route between Stockholm and Mariefred on Lake Mälaren. In 1992 the vessel was sold to Norway for service in the Stavanger area and in 1997 Gripsholm was resold back to her original traffic on Lake Mälaren.

 

The interior of the ship is arranged with comfortable aircraft-type seats, all at tables, for 95 passengers on the main deck. On the upper deck there is a VIP-lounge with 17 seats arranged with connection to a small sun deck. Aft on the main deck is a fully equipped galley for serving of lighter meals.

 

Gripsholm  is equipped with a bow-visir to enable embarkation and disembarkation over the bow.
